This almost unpronounceable Sicilian term is well know at Delia, a small town of this region, and it indicate a very tasty and crispy donute shaped cookie.
The origin of the term is Greek "kollura" (ring shaped bread). Local legends say that the cookie was requested to honour the tow's princess during the Sicilian Vespri war (1282-1302).
Seven centuries have past but the recipe is still the same with very simple ingredients.
Enjoy this cookie of tradition with sweet wine, ice cream or plaine.
